The archive index database contains a list of archive databases. The archive databases are listed in order of descending creation date, the most recent archive appearing at the top of the list. Double clicking on an archive document will launch the corresponding Archive database.
Each archive index document is automatically added as the system creates a new archive database.  The Administrator can configure that the archive databases are created each month with a standard naming convention that contains the year and month. Alternatively new archive databases can be created based on the size of the database so when a certain size is reached the database will roll over and a new database is created.
This database also contains a search function that will allow messages to be retrieved from multiple archives.  The searches may be based on keywords, a date range, recipient (email address), attachment name, or email subject.
Submitting a search will return a list of doc-links and information about each matching email message including date sent, recipient email address and subject.
