Archive Database - Background

The design of the archive database is similar to a standard Lotus Notes Mail database.  The forms used within the database are similar to the standard Lotus Notes Memo form, with the standard action buttons removed.  An action called 'Forward Message' is added which will allow a copy of the archived message to be forwarded to an email recipient.  This function is intended to be used when a new employee requests access to an email sent by someone other than themselves.  It also allows a user to forward a copy of the archived message that they have sent.

There are numerous views within the database for ease of use:
      Archived Emails By Sender
      Archived Emails By Recipient
      Archived Emails By Date Sent
      Archived Emails By Attachment Name
      Archived Emails By Subject
 
The following “action buttons” are available for each email:
     Close Window:
Closes the current email message and returns to the currently open archive.
     Forward Email:
Will prompt the user for an email address and forward the email message in its entirety without permitting modification.
