Index Server Search

Within the Index server there are two searches available. The 'basic' search is a fully supported Lotus Notes Full Text Search across multiple databases, the Lotus notes help file is the best reference for syntax etc.

Alternatively there is the option of the 'Advanced' search.  Here you have the opportunity to refine your criteria, obviously, this reduces the returned record set and increases your chances of finding the email you are lookng for.

Subject Contains/Body Contains:These two fields follow the same rules of syntax as any used in a Full-text search.
Created Between:This searches emails on their posted date (ie when the message was posted to mail.box).
Sent to: At present this only searches the 'To:' field on any message.
Attachment Type: Selecting the drop down box presents the user with the following selections :-

If you supply a value for the 'New Keyword' parameter then this only applies to the user making this search, it does not automatically 'hard-code' the option into the product.

If the archive that contains the desired message is known then an archive search (see Searching_an_Individual_Archive) may be the better option. Please note that regardless of type of search (archive/basic/advanced) the recordset returned will only include those messages the user has the necessary permissions to see.
